He believes that through photography he could exist outside of himself, to live in a world captured through the lens. He used up to a dozen enlargers at a time to produce his final images.
His interpretations of landscape elements, reworked, tweaked and recontextualised, force the viewer to actively interact with his subjects.
I find Uelsmann's worked really interesting and has inspired me to do something similar in my work for this module. I love how you want to stare at the photos and try to work them out and thats how I would like my work to be portrayed.
I also like the effect the monochrome has, making them look more eery and unusual.
